PEEK MFG

What this site is, and what it is not

We match PEEK drawings with shops that cut engineering plastics. We do not own machines and we do not sell plastic. That is the whole business, and it is why the guidance here has no shop to protect.

What we are

A matching service for one narrow niche: machined PEEK and the other high temperature plastics that sit next to it. You send a drawing, we read it, we hand it to up to 3 shops that cut that grade at that size, and they quote you directly. You order from the shop you choose. Nothing about the order passes through us.

What we are not

  • Not a machine shop. We own no machines and we cut nothing. If a page here tells you what is realistic on a bore, it is because shops told us, not because we ran the job.
  • Not a material distributor. We do not sell rod, plate or tube, so we have no reason to push you toward a grade that happens to be in stock.
  • Not a bidding platform. Your drawing does not go to a hundred anonymous suppliers to race each other to the bottom. It goes to a short list, by hand.
  • Not a reseller. We do not mark up your parts. You pay the shop, at the price they quote you.

How we get paid

Shops pay us for matched requests. Buyers pay nothing, ever, and there is no commission on the order. That arrangement decides two things you should know about:

  • We have an incentive to send shops requests they can win, not to flood them with anything that arrives. A shop that keeps getting bad matches stops paying.
  • We have no incentive to steer you toward an expensive grade or a bigger order. We are paid the same either way.

What we will not do: sell your contact details to anyone beyond the shops we match, add you to a marketing list, or accept payment from a shop in exchange for being recommended in a guide. The guides and the matching are kept apart on purpose, which is written down in our editorial standards.

The same applies to the vendors who sell to these shops, meaning material distributors, tooling suppliers, oven makers and inspection services. They can send us a profile and they get named in a guide where the technical context calls for it. They cannot buy placement, they cannot buy a ranking, and they never receive shop contact details. The rule and the form are on for vendors.

Why this exists

Every guide to machining PEEK is written by someone selling the part or selling the plastic. That is not dishonest, but it means nobody writes for the person who has to specify the grade, defend the budget and find a shop that has actually cut the stuff before.

PEEK is also a niche where getting it wrong is expensive twice: the material costs many times what the part would in aluminium, and the failure modes are unfamiliar. Parts warp after machining, fits close up when hot, glass filled grades eat the shaft they run against. A buyer who knows those three things before sending a drawing gets a better part and a better price.

How the matching works

  1. You send the RFQ

Drawing, grade if you know it, quantity, tolerance, service temperature and any documents you need.

  2. We read it and write a preview

Part type, grade, size, quantity, tolerance, documents, region, deadline. Your name, company and files are not in it.

  3. Shops see the preview first

Only shops that cut that grade at that size. They decide whether to take the lead before they see who you are.

  4. They quote you directly

You compare, you ask questions, you place the order with whoever you pick.

The bar a shop has to clear before it sees any preview is published in full at how we vet shops.

What we will not claim

You will not find a client count, a network size, a years in business badge or a testimonial anywhere on this site. Not because we are shy, but because none of those are verifiable by you, and a number you cannot check is not a reason to trust anyone. What you can check is whether the technical pages are right, whether the process described here matches what happens when you send a drawing, and whether we say plainly when we do not know something.

Three sides, three sets of questions

This site serves three groups and each one asks different things, so the answers live where that group is rather than in one long list:

  • Buyers ask who sees the drawing, what it costs and what happens if the part is wrong. Those answers are on the home page, under the questions heading.
  • Shops ask what a preview shows, how many shops see one request and whether we take a cut. Those are on for suppliers.
  • Vendors ask whether placement can be bought and whether we hand over the shop list. Those are on for vendors.
